GovTact is looking for a Network Engineer to provide ongoing Network Architecture & Design support for our Naval Research Lab customer in Washington, DC (MD side of Wilson Bridge at 295).
Provide NRL customers with trouble shooting support of Local Area Network (LAN) / Wide Area Network (WAN) hardware. Analyze and correct issues with Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Wireless connections.
Provide Netgroup helpdesk phone and email trouble calls and respond to NRL Labwide customers. The contractor must be proficient in Microsoft Visio and maintain current network documentation and diagrams.
Provide support to NRL-DC, NRL field sites, and NRL research personnel located at sponsoring organizations under the direction of the Contractor Program Lead in provide support for establishing and maintaining computational support resources as required by the assignments to support their tasks. These resources may include personnel, hardware and software in support of these assignments.
Active Secret Security Clearance required.
You’ve obtained a BS degree.
Must have comprehensive knowledge on Layer2 and Layer 3 Network Devices and must be able install and configure Cisco switches and routers.
Expertise to design, develop and deploy new Cisco hardware utilizing routing protocols Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and features of Cisco Nexus Switches using its Virtual Port Channel (VPC) capability.
Must be able to administrate Linux Based Computer Environments, be proficient in Computer (Perl, Python, Java) and Database (MySQL) programming.
Must have knowledge and programming experience in Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to manage network devices.
